Social Media Management

Facebook, Twitter or Instagram; these are a few common Social Media platforms used by almost everyone nowadays. Believe it or not, even a newborn baby has personal Facebook account created by parent/s. This is the trend of the cyber generation. Everybody is connected to the world using computers, laptops, Ipads, tablets and smartphones.

Although television or radio do still exist, Social Media becomes the center of information today. Even government offices have Facebook pages. This is where people leave comments and inquires, instead of dialing the hotline and waiting for the phone to be answered that takes more than thirty (30) minutes of waiting. (I have experienced that myself.)

People also get informed of current events, charity, DIY (do it yourself) tips, food, fitness,  advertisements and a lot more because of Social Media. According to study, the UK’s GDP for 2014, 80% of the internet population made a purchase online*. So whether we like it or not, all businesses, offices, various campaigns or institutions are now paved to the Social Media world.

As I study about Social Media Management, I came across a few tools to effectively post my personal blogs and quotes. And I am giving credit to my mentor who is an instrument of many virtual professionals in the Philippines, to achieve freedom of time and money. He is the author of Virtual Careers book, Jomar Hilario.

These two (2) tools are just a few among the many tools used by many individuals or establishments online. IFTTT, as one of my tutorials is one thing that I am going to use. I will be introducing Hootsuite in managing my other posts for more effective postings. (My Hootsuite tutorial is not done yet.)

The  flowchart below is my guide to create a recipe in my IFTTT account. This is to avoid duplication of posts, which I experienced recently actually.

Marketing Gem’s IFTTT Flowchart.

When I post a photo or video in my Instagram (@marketinggem73) account, automatically the IFTTT  will post it to Twitter, my FB Page Learn with Mom, Dropbox, Tumblr and Pinterest.

How to Use Trello

Learning about project management is an exciting thing to do. In the virtual world, Trello  becomes an easy means to have a great collaboration, and a more effective way to organize a project that can be shared to members of the team.

As I started learning about Trello, I came to realize that I can also organize and update my personal-private tasks. Like the tutorials that I am making, I can set goals of my timeline or put on the list of inputs that come to mind. I learned that event planners can maximize task and systematically implement tasks to each project member. Please refer to this blog that I find useful: Event Planning.

I hope you will learn from this tutorial and may the Gem be with you.

Thank You!
